A GMB doctor today accused Prime Minister Boris Johnson of telling the British what they want to hear instead of the truth as the UK coronavirus death toll continues to rise.
On today’s episode (Thursday, Jan. 28) of the ITV daytime show, presenters Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid spoke to NHS doctor Rachel Clarke, who claimed the Prime Minister had shown no leadership skills.
Tragically, the death toll in the UK from the deadly insect recently topped 100,000.
And on Downing Street, the Prime Minister told the public that he was “taking full responsibility” for government actions. He said, “We really did everything we could. I am very sorry for every life lost.”
What did the doctor say about GMB today?
After Good Morning UK host Ben asked how Rachel felt when she heard Boris claim he and his government did everything they can during the pandemic, she said it made her “sick” .
She said on the program, “I was absolutely sick when I heard him say this because it was obviously and obviously a lie.”

Rachel claimed Boris did not immediately lock the country when the virus first hit, closing borders or protecting nursing homes.
She also said that she believed the Prime Minister “threw vulnerable people to wolves in nursing homes”.
Dr. Rachel continued, “He didn’t do anything that could help the first time, and worse, he repeated the same mistakes the second time.”
She went on to say that doctors face the difficult task of telling people that their loved ones are dying.
He didn’t do anything the first time that could have helped.
“We can’t escape it, that’s leadership,” she said. “It’s tough and does a good job.”

Dr. Rachel raged: “Boris Johnson is in front of the cameras and doesn’t even have the decency to brush his hair. He looks the country in the eye and is not telling the truth.
“He tells us what he thinks, we want to hear what’s popular rather than what’s right, and I can’t forgive him for that failure of character costs tens of thousands of lives.”
