In November, the former Suits actress spoke of the “sharp cramp” she had when changing Archie’s diaper and knew immediately that she was going to lose her baby.
Meghan explained, “After I changed his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms and hummed a lullaby to keep us both calm. The happy melody was a stark contrast to my feeling that something was wrong.
“I knew when I clutched my firstborn child that I was losing my second.”
She continued, “Hours later, I was lying in a hospital bed holding his [Harry’s] Hand.
“I felt the moisture in his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both of our tears.
“When I stared at the cold white walls, my eyes were glassy. I tried to imagine how we would heal. “
At the time, she called for more openness to miscarriages, saying, “Losing a child means suffering an almost unbearable grief that many experience but few speak of.
