The Queen, who was alone at Prince Philip’s funeral, was “hard” to see, Mike Tindall admitted.
Rugby ace Mike, who is married to the Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Phillips, performed on GMB and BBC Breakfast today (April 30th).
During both interviews, he paid tribute to the monarch, but admitted that it was difficult to see her sitting alone at her husband’s funeral.
What did Mike say about the Queen and Prince Philip?
At the BBC breakfast, Mike admitted, “Loss is always difficult.”
And while he said he thought the funeral was “beautifully done,” one aspect of it was particularly difficult.
He admitted, “At the same time, we had to watch the Queen take a stand to show what the world was at the moment.

“To sit alone and be as brave as her, I thought, I’ll just sum her up as a lady. She was amazing. “

Mike said that after the funeral ended the family were told to “get in your cars and go home.”
He added: “That was allowed and what the rules say.
“Yeah, it was tough. But I thought the actual funeral was so good and he would look down, happy with how it happened. “
Queen leads by example
Mike paid tribute to Her Majesty on the ITV morning show with Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway.
He said, “I think that’s what she does, she sets an example.

Prince Philip would have been “happy” with the funeral
However, Mike said the funeral would have been exactly what Prince Philip would have wanted.
“I think the way the funeral was planned and carried out was exceptional.
“If he’d looked down, in the middle of a pandemic, and not under the radar, but a little more cautiously, he would probably have been happier with it.”
Mike added, “Even though the rest of us would have liked it to have been a little more of a party.
“But that was the man he was.”
