Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s break with the royal family was “very sad,” said Prince Edward.
The Earl of Wessex, 57, spoke with in a new interview. over the Sussexes CNN in this week.
During the chat, Edward talked about the “excessive intrusion” all high-ranking royals have faced over the years – but ultimately wished the couple luck.
What did Edward say about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?
When asked about the “undeniably existing family gap”, he joked: “Do you euphemistically refer to Harry and Meghan?
“It’s very sad. Oddly enough, we’ve all been there before – we’ve all had excessive intrusion and attention in our lives.”
In addition, the Duke announced: “We all handled it a little differently and wish you, listen, all the best.

“It’s a really tough decision.”
Edward later added, “It’s difficult for everyone, but families are for you.”
In addition, the Queen’s youngest son congratulated the couple on the birth of their newborn daughter Lilibet.

He continued, “Fantastic news about the baby – this is great. I hope you will be very happy. “
And Edward also spoke about his mother, Her Majesty, who sadly lost her husband, Prince Philip, in April.
The Duke added: “I think so [she’s] actually remarkably good. “
Harry and Meghan hit back on naming claims
Meanwhile, Edward’s interview comes days after Harry and Meghan were forced to hit back on false reports.
The couple, who greeted their daughter Lili on June 4, shared a statement addressing rumors that they had not asked the queen for permission to use the name.
A spokesman for the couple said that BBC: “The Duke spoke to his family before the announcement; in fact, his grandmother was the first family member he called.
“During this conversation he shared her hope to name her daughter Lilibet in her honor.
“If they hadn’t supported, they wouldn’t have used the name.”
Despite the division in the family, it is also believed that Harry is in “regular” contact with his father, Prince Charles.

It comes after the 36-year-old Duke made a number of claims against his family in a series of interviews.
Last month, Harry appeared to be digging over Charles’ parenting during a podcast appearance with Dax Shepard.
He also accused the royal family of “total neglect” during his Apple TV + mental health series, The Me You Can’t See, starring Oprah Winfrey.
