Unforgotten fans of the fourth series are begging for Line Of Duty crossovers

Unforgettable fans of the fourth series have come up with a new way to hunt down Matthew Walsh’s killer – they want a character from the BBC crime drama Line Of Duty to appear.

Viewers are excited about the ITV show, and all suspects have police links.

However, after last night’s revelation that two of the four suspects are serving police officers, viewers can smell a bent copper.

And they think there’s only one man for the job … Ted Hastings.

What happened in the new episode of the fourth series of Unforgotten?

In the aftermath of last night (Monday March 1), DCI Cassie Stewart (Nicola Walker) and DI Sunny Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) continued to investigate the murder of Matthew Walsh.

Four prime suspects are all involved, all with police connections.

But last night it was revealed that two of them – Liz Baildon (Susan Lynch) and Ram Sidhu (Phaldut Sharma) – are still working in the troupe.

And this led viewers to wonder if one – or both – were bent pieces of copper.

The mere mention of bent copper prompted viewers to urge the Line Of Duty character and the head of Anti-Corruption Unit AC-12, Superintendent Ted Hastings, to come in and sort things out.

Mother of God! Get Ted in!

One viewer wrote on Twitter: “Somebody calls Ted Hastings. We have a bent copper here #unforgotten. ”

Another said, “Somebody is bringing AC-12 to help #Unforgottes.”

A third commented: “Curved copper? I think we know exactly what (or should I say who) this case needs … #forgotten. “

Finally, a fourth wrote: “Corruption within the police in #Unforgotten?

“You have to call Ted Hastings from #LineOfDuty – his team will be adamant and sort this case by historical as well.”

When does Line Of Duty start?

While the prospect of Ted Hastings sniffing bent copper pieces in Unforgotten is a stretch, there is good news for Line Of Duty fans.

The BBC has confirmed that the sixth series of the hit crime drama will begin on Sunday March 21st.

In a teaser trailer, Ted (played by Adrian Dunbar) was yelled through a megaphone, “This is Superintendent Hastings, you are being treated fairly under the full protection of the law.”

Who he yells at is still a mystery, but fans believe DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) could get into trouble.
