BGT 2021 has been dropped, but Vernon Kay will put on a show that will replace the talent program, a report said.
A story in The sun online claims that 46-year-old Vernon will be hosting the brand new talent show Game of Talents on Saturday night.
The program will reportedly fill the space missing from BGT, which will not be shown this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
If the claim is true, it will be the Lancashire-born star’s first major TV deal since joining I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year.
What is a talent game that could replace BGT in 2021?
ITV and Thames TV announced the Game of Talents back in September.
In the format already used in some countries, members of the public work with celebrities to guess the hidden talents of eight guests.
Amelia Brown, General Manager of Thames, said, “The show offers a unique combination of performance and gameplay that will entertain families from young to old and everyone in between.”

And if The Sun Online’s report is anything, show bosses think Vernon is the perfect host.
A source said: “Vernon may not have won that I am a celebrity, but he was the star of the show from day one – personable, warm and really down to earth.
Why is there no Got Talent in the UK this year?
“Vern hasn’t been in ITV prime time since Family Fortunes six years ago.
“So it feels like now is the perfect time to bring him back to his knees.”
According to the report, ITV is considering running the new show in seven installments.

The 2021 series of Britain’s Got Talent is canceled this year due to the ongoing pandemic.
An ITV spokesperson said, “Although everyone at ITV, Thames and Syco are doing their best to make this happen …
“… And with our absolute priority to protect the well-being and health of everyone involved in the program …
“… From judges, hosts and participants to the entire crew and the audience …
“… The decision has been made – unfortunately – to postpone the recording and broadcasting of the 15th series of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ until 2022.
“It has become clear that not only is it not possible to safely film auditions with such acts.
“But also that they are not able to rehearse appropriately and prepare safely.
“Safety has to come first and therefore the recording of the show cannot continue as planned at this time.”
Ent Daily has asked Vernon staff for a comment.
