Given the barriers to film production created by the pandemic, filmmakers are facing new challenges to film their respective projects while keeping social distancing and safety protocols in mind. Making action films has certainly become more difficult during the pandemic, as more staff and additional safety precautions are required.
One of this year’s highly anticipated films is “Sanak” by producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah, which surpasses Vidyut Jammwal and is directed by Kanishk Varma. The action-packed movie poster that was released earlier this year aroused great anticipation among the audience, especially all fans of the action genre.

With Vidyut portraying the central character, ‘Sanak’ is sure to be an action extravaganza with an equal dose of emotion and drama. Director Kanishk Varma shares the size and scope of the action sequences: “While audiences have seen and enjoyed some of Vidyut’s signature action moves in films over the years, they will see a different side of him in ‘Sanak’. We have mostly seen Vidyut portray a commando or special force man in films, but in ‘Sanak’ he plays a simple man and he has a past related to mixed martial arts in the film. How he fights as an ordinary man sets the tone of action for the film. “
“The film offers a completely different style of action. It’s like a balletic action with a certain rhythm. It becomes easy to shoot with Vidyut because he is such a brilliant martial artist himself that all he has to do is remember the action choreography. My assignment to Andy Long (Hollywood stunt choreographer) was that the plot should look like a ballet. We wanted to do long takes, and that’s where I think the audience will get a glimpse of the action in the film, ”adds Kanishk.

Vidyut Jammwal shares, “’Sanak’ is about an ordinary man’s emotional journey, and the action sequences have been choreographed and adapted accordingly. It was a conscious decision to create a niche of its own with Kalaripayattu as the background of an MMA fighter. The plot in the film is new, original and groundbreaking. It is sure to inspire action junkies around the world. The fans of the action genre will enjoy the sequences as much as I do. “
Vipul Shah, who has worked with Vidyut for the fifth time, explains: “With every film we try to create a new style of action with Vidyut, and that’s exactly what he cracked again with Andy Long, who worked extensively with superstars like has Jackie Chan and others. We have created different sets for different sequences of actions. While each action scene is set in a hospital, it still looks different as each section is different. So it has become a unique experience to shoot the action scenes in ‘Sanak’. “
