The cast of Call The Midwife have been a veritable revolving door for the past 10 series.
Our favorite drama has been a breeding ground for fantastic acting talent and has produced some notable appearances over the years from popular actresses who have moved on to bigger and better things.
But where are all the former members of the cast and what are they so far?
Where are all of the old favorites from the Call The Midwife cast?
Nurse Solitaire Mount
Emerald left Call The Midwife after series six and has been in demand ever since.
Her starring role as Camilla Parker Bowles in The Crown brought her worldwide fame.
But 35-year-old Emerald was also busy behind the camera.
In 2018 she wrote the second series of the BBC thriller Killing Eve and just last week received an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Promising Young Woman.
Elsewhere, she gave birth to a son in 2019 and announced at the Oscars that she was pregnant with her second child.
Matron Camilla ‘Chummy’ Fortescue-Cholmondeley-Browne
Comedian Miranda became a fan favorite with her first serious acting role in Call The Midwife.
When she left after the fourth series, she returned to her comedic roots with Miranda touring and TV specials: Morecambe & Wise and me, Comic Relief, and Miranda’s games with showbiz names.
She also wrote a children’s book in 2017.
Nurse Valerie Dyer
Despite being a popular character in Call The Midwife from series six through nine, Jennifer decided to call it a day in 2020.
And since the pandemic, things have been quiet on the Kirby front. However, her career on stage and her appearance on Call The Midwife certainly prepare her for a brilliant career.
38-year-old Jessica, the linchpin of the first three series, left the show in 2014.
She made a memorable appearance on the second series of Line of Duty in 2014 and has since appeared in the BBC thrillers Informer and Baptiste.
In 2015 Jessica married fellow actor Tom Goodman-Hill and in 2019 she gave birth to a baby boy.
Pam was another of the original cast and already a familiar face on television thanks to roles in The Darling Buds Of May and Rosemary & Thyme.
But her appearance as the no-nonsense sister Evangelina revived her career.
Seventy-two-year-old Pam has been quiet lately – the last viewers saw of her was the Tolkein movie and the Sky Arts comedy series Urban Myths.
Sister Mary Cynthia
Cynthia spoke compassionately and quietly for the first six series.
Since leaving the show, the mother of one Bryony has played Cath in Unforgotten in 2017 and was featured on this year’s series of Death In Paradise earlier this year.
She played Rebecca Morley.
