Liam Neeson spoke to Graham Norton about the death of his wife Natasha Richardson.
In an episode that airs tonight (March 26) but was filmed earlier this week, actor The Taken and his son Micheál join Graham over a video link from New York.
You’re on the show to talk about your new Made in Italy comedy drama.
But you also talk about the loss of Natasha, who died in 2009 at the age of 45.
What happened to Natasha Richardson, Liam Neeson’s wife?
Natasha and Liam married in 1994 and the couple had two sons – Micheál, born in 1995, and Daniel, born in 1996.
On March 16, 2009, while taking a beginner ski lesson in Canada, Natasha fell and sustained a head injury.
At first she refused medical help.

However, two hours later she complained of a severe headache and was flown to a hospital in New York.
Unfortunately, she died two days later.
Natasha suffered from an epidural hematoma. It occurs when a mass of blood forms in the space between the skull and the protective covering of the brain.
A statement said: “Liam Neeson, his sons and the whole family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha.
“You are deeply grateful for everyone’s support, love and prayers and ask for privacy at this very difficult time.”
Was Natasha Richardson related to Joley Richardson?
Natasha came from the acting dynasty.
As a member of the Redgrave family, her father was director and producer Tony Richardson and her mother was actress Vanessa Redgrave.

What did Liam Neeson say about his wife at Graham Norton?
Liam and Micheàl play a father and a son who lost their wife and mother in the new film.
Liam said, “We can relate to that very much.
“When I read the script, I thought, oh my god, that’s a little bit close to the ankle. I felt up and down in my stomach but thought it would be great to do with my son. “
Micheál revealed that the father and son had a discussion about whether they would like to play the traumatic scenes on screen before filming began.
When I read the script, I thought, oh my god, this is a little bit close to the ankle.
He revealed: “We had a conversation about it beforehand.
“I think Dad was more concerned about the promotional aspect and I got questions about mom and other personal matters, but I was pretty cool with it.
“Other than that, it was so strange that it was 10 years after the mother died and we were actually selling a single-family home that she grew up in, so it hit us a little harder.”
Talk Liam said in the film about things she might not have said in real life: “It was cathartic in a way – the way art can be sometimes.
“There were some very sensitive emotional scenes and I had no problem accessing the emotions. It didn’t take me days to prepare for it and I thought Micheál was the same.
“We had such a sensitive producer and such a supportive crew that we felt wonderfully comfortable.”
