How To Lose Weight Well, episode one
In the first episode of the sixth series, Dr. Helen Lawal and Dr. Javid Abdelmoneim returned to find out about the most popular diets out there.
A couple of sisters are testing Adele’s favorite sirtfood diet and the Mayr method, as reportedly used by shrinking Australian actress Rebel Wilson.
In the meantime, friends Temi and Bose are trying intermittent fasting, including the holistic Bodhimaya method.
Others contrast yoga and cardio exercise.
What is the Sirtfood Diet?
Singer Adele is said to have attributed her weight loss to the sirtfood diet after allegedly losing seven stones.
The diet is perhaps best known for allowing those who follow it to eat red wine and chocolate.
Indeed, one could say the regime is actively promoting it!

What is a sirt food?
A sirtfood is a food that is high in sirtuin activator.
Sirtuins are a type of protein that protects the cells in our body from dying or inflammation from disease.

What Can You Eat On The Sirtfood Diet?
The sirtfood diet plan focuses on increasing your intake of healthy sirtfoods. These include apples, blueberries, buckwheat, capers, citrus fruits, dates, kale, turmeric, and walnuts – and much more!
Another top sirt food is coffee.
Countries where large numbers of sirt foods are already consumed include Japan and Italy, both of which are consistently among the healthiest countries in the world.
The first week of the diet plan encourages you to limit your intake to 1000 calories per day and drink three green sirtfood juices per day.
It also tells you to eat one sirtfood-rich meal a day.
Authors and health advisor Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten insist that the emphasis is on eating healthy rather than weight loss.
What is the Mayr Method?
The Mayr Method Diet was developed by Dr. Franz Xaver Mayr developed.
He believed that everything is related to the gut and what we eat can affect our overall health and wellbeing.
The late doctor believed that most people poison their digestive systems with the foods they eat and how they eat them.
Diet plan followers are supposed to eliminate snacking, reduce their intake of gluten and dairy products, and change the way they chew their food.
The diet does not limit calories, but the intention is for devotees to eat slowly, stop eating when satisfied, and drink between meals but not with meals.
The plan also includes eating the largest meal of the day for breakfast, a smaller meal for lunch, and the smallest meal for dinner.
No raw food is allowed after 3 p.m.
Detox and fasting are also part of the plan.
Bodhimaya intermittent fasting
Intermittent fasting is an umbrella term for various meal schedules that alternate between voluntary fasting and non-fasting over a period of time.
Three methods of intermittent fasting are second-day fasting, regular fasting, and daily limited-time feeding.
The 5: 2 diet is possibly the most popular of the intermittent fasting plans.
It’s about eating normally five days a week while limiting your caloric intake to 500 to 600 two days a week.
The Bodhimaya Method is a holistic approach that can be “tailor-made” for you.
It can include juice fasting, broth fasting, intermittent fasting, and calorie restriction.
