When does Call The Midwife start and what is the new series about?
It’s all that fans of the popular BBC drama have thought of since the program returned to screens for a Christmas special over the holiday season.

New episodes of the program are slated to hit screens later this year.
However, the BBC has not yet announced an exact broadcast date.
However, it is confirmed that the show will arrive in 2021.
Fortunately, fans shouldn’t have to wait too long.

An update on the program’s Facebook page on January 30th revealed that filming of the drama was “moving forward quickly” and ending “very soon,” despite the difficulties of filming in the middle of a pandemic.
It teased, “We’re pleased to say that our filming of the 10th series is moving forward rapidly despite the apparent delays and challenges of the past year.
“We hope very soon that we can finish filming the entire series. Until then, we can look forward to showing you the results!
“Call The Midwife returns with a brand new series 10 in 2021 xx.”
We are pleased to say that our tenth series filming is moving forward rapidly despite the apparent delays and challenges of the past year.
The update also revealed that the show was filming scenes filmed in cold weather during the summer.
On Instagram, a fan said: “I really appreciate the filming of this show in such difficult times and temperatures. I’ve looked at the older seasons over and over again over the past year. “
Another commented: “Thank you everyone for [your] Dedication. We, the fans, appreciate you. I love this show. “
A third sentence: “I can’t wait to see season 10, you are all so amazing.”
A fourth wrote, “I can’t wait! I don’t know if I’ve ever watched an episode without crying! “
What will happen in Call The Midwife Series 10?
The events of the new series will take place in 1966.
The BBC has yet to reveal details of the plot, although a number of famous historical events have taken place this year that could in some way play a role in the story.

These include England’s 4-2 win over West Germany at the World Cup and Labor’s Harold Wilson, who will become Prime Minister after an early election.
There was also the Aberfan disaster, in which a colliery collapsed and buried part of the Welsh village, killing 144 people – including 116 children.
Who is in the cast of Series 10?
The Christmas special featured a number of series favorites including Jenny Agutter (Sister Julienne), Helen George (Trixie), Stephen McGann (Dr. Turner), and Cliff Parisi (Fred Buckle).
Unfortunately, sister Valerie Dyer star Jennifer Kirby will not appear in the new episodes because she has left the show.
In August of last year, she said, “After four happy years at Call The Midwife, I’ve decided to say goodbye to Nonnatus, Val and the wonderful cast, crew and production team.”
