Fans of The Repair Shop might be a little annoyed tonight (Wednesday, April 14, 2021) as the start of the new series has been withdrawn from the program.
Instead of the eighth series of the popular repair show, viewers see the MasterChef finals instead.
The grand finale of Gregg Wallace and John Torode’s cooking show should have ended last week.
However, Prince Philip’s death on Friday April 9, 2021 affected all schedules.

Why did MasterChef replace The Repair Shop?
The MasterChef finale was scheduled to air on Friday, April 9th, 2021.

Complaints about Prince Philip’s reporting
MasterChef and The Repair Shop fans weren’t the only ones complaining about wall-to-wall coverage on the BBC last Friday.
The planning drew the most complaints in BBC history.
A viewer who wrote on the website said: “The coverage of this event took up the entire evening broadcast, excluding all other topics, including the ongoing topic of the pandemic.
“A certain amount of coverage was warranted, but not to this extent.”
According to The Guardian, Jerry Springer: The Opera was the BBC’s most criticized show in 2005.
