Line of Duty is back and we couldn’t be happier to see Martin Compston back on our screens – is the actor married and where is he from?
Read on to find out all about him! The 36-year-old actor has played AC-12 favorite Steve Arnott since the series began in 2012.
But could this series be his last?
Martin teased a clip on Instagram that showed Steve is ready to leave AC-12.
And creator Jed Mercurio has said none of the main characters are safe from death.
But who is Martin Compston, what was he in before and is the handsome actor married?
We have all the gossip!
Where does Line of Duty star Martin Compston come from?
Despite his accent in Line of Duty, Martin is actually Scottish as any of his Instagram followers will know from videos in his stories.
He was born on May 8, 1984 in Greenock near Glasgow in Scotland.

He has an older brother, Barry, and recently bought a house in Greenock to be closer to parents Jim and Liz when he returns home.
Martin no longer lives in Scotland – or in Great Britain.
Instead, Martin lives in Las Vegas and is undoubtedly earning those Air Miles, now he’s a hot TV property thanks to his Line of Duty casting.
Who is Martin Compston married to?
That’s why Martin lives in Vegas.
He is married to American actress Tianna Flynn and it is her hometown.
The couple tied the knot in 2016, but they’re pretty private about their personal life.
However, in 2019 he confirmed that Tianna was pregnant with the couple’s first child.
In March 2020, he announced to fans that he had become a father.

Her child’s name has not been disclosed and he has not shared any photos of the dead – whose gender is also a mystery.
And if you think the gorgeous Tianna looks familiar, you would have seen her on screen in Line of Duty.
She made a cameo on the 2019 series of police drama when her picture appeared on a dating app after her character Tina Watts sent a message to Steve Arnott.
The couple’s dog also appeared in the picture.
What was Martin before Line of Duty?
Before he gave his name, Martin was actually a professional footballer.
He was on the Aberdeen FC books and signed with Greenock Morton when he left school.
All of that changed, however, when fame – and an award at the Cannes Film Festival – called after winning a role in Ken Loach’s Sweet Sixteen, which was filmed near his home.
One thing I’m going to say is that this year there are a lot of big questions that are being answered.
He then landed a recurring role on the BBC’s Monarch of the Glen before the big screen and a handful of film roles came his way.
In one of the films, Soulboy 2010, his path first crossed with Line of Duty star Craig Parkinson.
The couple were cast as anti-corruption officers by the BBC just two years later.
What else was Martin Compston in?
Martin was a busy boy as he worked on filming Line of Duty between breaks.
He starred in the ITV miniseries The Ice Cream Girls, the BBC’s Great Train Robbery, and played a serial killer in the Scottish three-part film In Plain Sight in 2016.
More recently, Martin appeared in the first series of the surrogacy drama The Nest on BBC One.
He also appeared in Alibi’s tracks, which were reopened for a second series after they were picked up by the BBC.
He recently confirmed that he had read scripts as early as the second season.
Martin also announced that he has pledged to star in The Rig alongside Rochenda Sandall, the star of Line of Duty. It is filmed in Edinburgh.
We also hope to see him on the seventh series of Line of Duty should creator Jed Mercurio decide to write another season of the corrupt cop drama.
Speaking to Lorraine about the new series, he said, “One thing I’m going to say is that there are a lot of big questions answered this year.
“Personally, I think… the third series was a lot of our favorites because it was kind of the culmination of the first, second and third series.
“And at six it feels that way again. It feels like four and five have reached this great climax. “
Line of Duty is on BBC One on Sunday evening at 9 p.m.
