Who is Carol Klein?

Carol describes herself as a “TV gardener, writer and plant woman”.

She is an English gardening expert who also works as a television presenter and newspaper columnist.

TV viewers will know how best to present Gardeners’ World alongside Monty Don from 2006 to 2019.

She appeared as a judge at The Great Gardening Challenge in 2019.

Before that, she shared her gardening knowledge in shows like Great British Gardens: Season by Season with Carol Klein, Carol Klein’s Plant Odysseys and Grow Your Own Veg.

She received the Victoria Medal of Honor (VMH) in 2018.

It is given to British gardeners who, in the opinion of the Royal Horticultural Society Council, deserve a special distinction.

How old is she and where is she from?

Carol Klein was born on June 24, 1945 in Walkden, Lancashire.

She is currently 75 years old.

Carol became an art teacher and taught in schools in Shepherds Bush, London before moving to Devon.

There she taught at North Devon College and taught art at South Molton Secondary School and Community College before starting her own nursery, Glebe Cottage Plants.

She has exhibited at more than 200 Royal Horticultural Society exhibitions and began exhibiting at the annual Chelsea Flower Show in 1990.

Where is Carol Klein’s garden?

The gardening with Carol Klein is filmed in Glebe Cottage, Carol’s Devon home.

The house is in Chittlehamholt near Umberleigh, where she has been growing unusual perennials for 30 years.

She had previously housed her kindergarten store, Glebe Cottage Plants, from there until complaints from her neighbors.

They didn’t like their wild approach to gardening.

Carol’s garden is a sea of ​​different plants and garden styles.

Set on a series of terraces at different levels, Glebe Cottage is a haven for plant styles from around the world.

Who is her husband

Carol Klein is married to Neil Klein, 67.

The couple moved to Glebe Cottage in 1978.

He also performs at gardening with Carol Klein alongside her Lakeland Terrier Fifi.

They have two grown daughters, Annie and Alice.

Annie, 40, lives in California while Alice, 38, is closer to home in Lewisham – and recently gave birth to her second child.

Carol set out to meet her new grandson for the first time before the lockdown.

Speaking to The Telegraph, she said, “We just saw him before the lockdown.

“It was fantastic to have that hug, it keeps you going.”

She later does important jobs in the greenhouse, from cutting out seedlings to digging up and potting last year’s dahlia bulbs.
