Vanessa left Emmerdale last year. But where is Vanessa Woodfield in Emmerdale and when is she coming back?
Where’s Vanessa Woodfield in Emmerdale?
Vanessa was diagnosed with colon cancer last year. She told fiancé Charity and Sister Tracy and the news left her devastated.
Vanessa had surgery to remove the tumor and lymph nodes, which was a success. However, she still needed chemotherapy.
Vanessa later walked away from the screen when she left the village to visit her mother, who had a bad fall. Vanessa decided to stay with her to take care of her.
In the real world, actress Michelle Hardwick was pregnant at the time and the UK had been banned for the first time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Filming on the soap was suspended from mid-March to May.
When the show resumed production, Michelle did not return to filming because she was pregnant and pregnant women are considered at risk of the virus.
Why hasn’t she come back yet?
In October 2020, Charity felt that Vanessa had distanced herself from her and feared she would leave her.
Annoyed, she finally kissed Moira’s brother Mackenzie. What she didn’t notice, however, was Vanessa’s sister saw this and took a picture.

Vanessa later told Charity that she acted aloof because she had an appointment from another scan and didn’t want to worry.
It was good news, however, and the all-clear had been given. Vanessa planned to return to the village, but Tracy told her about Charity’s scam and she decided to stay with her mother longer.
When will she come back?
It has not been announced when Michelle Hardwick will be filming again or when Vanessa will return to the big screen.
But when Tracy has just become a mother, the fans hope that Vanessa will be back soon!
So Tracy had the baby and Vanessa is not there. I do not like that at all #emmerdale
