Which films are worth seeing and how do you watch them?

That’s another year of Oscars graduation, but who are the 2021 Oscar winners?

Which films are worth watching and how can you see them?

Nomadland won big and won three Academy Awards, while British stars Sir Anthony Hopkins and Daniel Kaluuya both won acting awards.

Indeed, Britain has every reason to be proud now …

British writer and former Call the Midwife star Emerald Fennell was named Best Original Screenplay.

Here is our pick of the top five films worth watching!

Oscar winner 2021: Nomadland

Nomadland defeated greats like the father, Judas and the black Messiah, Mank and the promising young woman for the best picture.

And nobody was surprised.

Nomadland’s Chloé Zhao made history as the first woman of color and the second woman to ever win Best Director.

Kudos for that alone.

Meanwhile, Frances McDormand won Best Actress for her leading role in the film.

Honestly, everything that Frances stars is worth watching for us.

She plays Fern, a woman who lives in a van and leaves her hometown after her husband dies to be “homeless” and to travel around the United States.

It is life-affirming and at its core shows that home is not the same for everyone.

Nomadland will be available to Disney + subscribers starting April 30th.

Oscar winner 2021: Promising young woman

Promising young woman won the best original script and rightly so.

Written by Call the Midwife and The Crown star Emerald Fennell, Carey Mulligan plays a woman who seeks revenge.

The actress’s performance was widely praised, but a review of the film sparked controversy after the critic questioned whether Carey was credible in her role.

Variety’s Dennis Harvey said she was an “odd choice,” and the film’s producer, Margot Robbie, could have been a better fit.

Carey publicly disapproved of the review, which essentially questioned her as to whether she was “hot enough to pull off this type of ploy”.

Variety then apologized.

We believe that the British actress Carey as Cassandra in the film is an outstanding achievement who seeks revenge after a traumatic event in her past.

The film is currently available to Sky Cinema / Now TV subscribers.

Oscar winner 2021: the father

Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins was named best actor for father and was the oldest person to receive an Oscar at the age of 83.

Not everyone was happy, however, and some Chadwick Boseman fans hoped he would win the award for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Chadwick died last August at the age of 43.

Sir Anthony was named Best Actor for his masterful performance as a man with dementia, 29 years after winning his first Oscar for The Silence of the Lambs.

It’s a well deserved victory.

The film is also worth watching because it deals with an emotional subject that most of us have experience with and of course it plays the fabulous Olivia Colman!

The father has not yet been released but will soon be seen in some cinemas.

Hoping the roadmap out of lockdown will continue, The Father will be in theaters from June 11th.

Judas and the black messiah

Daniel Kaluuya was named Best Supporting Actor for Jude and the Black Messiah.

The Londoner then thanked his parents for the sex!

The film is worth seeing just because of Daniel’s appearance, which makes him one of the best actors in Great Britain.

Judas and the Black Messiah is a biographical drama film about the betrayal of Fred Hampton, chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party.

Daniel’s performance is fascinating.

The film is currently available on the Sky Store at a price of £ 15.99.

Ma Rainey’s black bottom

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom was recognized as best make-up and hairstyling as well as best costume design.

The story examines the historical exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.

This was Chadwick Boseman’s last film before his death in August, a desperately sad fact made even more poignant by the sheer flare of its performance.

Other winners were Sound of Metal for the best film editing, Soul for the best animated feature film, My Octupus Teacher for the best documentary film and another round for the best international feature film.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is currently available to watch on Netflix.
