Best house chef winner 2018: Pippa Middlehurst
Pippa Middlehurst won the first series of Best Home Cooking in June 2018.
Mary Berry, Chris Bavin and Dan Doherty named Pippa the winner after eight exhausting weeks of tough competition from nine other participants.
After filming, Pippa returned to her job as a biobank technician specializing in oncology research and began hosting dinner clubs and workshops.
She then decided to quit her job in November 2018 so that she could concentrate fully on cooking.
Pippa is now known by her Instagram handle, Pippy Eats, where she showcases her favorite recipes, most of which include pasta!
In August 2020, she published her first book entitled Dumplings and Noodles.
Pippa opened her own multifunctional event room Noodlehaus in autumn 2020.
As a result of her Best Home Cooking Award, she has since written recipes for Olive Magazine, BBC Good Food, Nigella Lawson’s Cookbook Corner, Metro, Sheer Luxe, and more.

Best House Chef 2020: Suzie Arbuthnot
Suzie Arbuthnot was named Best Home Cooking in 2020.
The Northern Irish accountant beat Sarah Woods and Georgia May Salamat after their roast impressed the judges.
Suzie has two children and juggles them while running her accounting firm from home.
Initially, Suzie began cooking at a young age and helping her family with Chinese food.
In the finale, her three-course meal consisted of goat cheese and beetroot tarts, a roast chicken dinner with a three-layer sticky toffee sponge and almond ice cream at the end.
After all, Suzie is now hosting her own TV show Suzie Lee’s Home Cook Heroes, which can be seen on iPlayer.
In the second series, Angela Hartnett replaced Dan Doherty.
Is there a price?
There is no price for winning the best home cook – only the joy of winning.
The show’s terms and conditions state: “The competition winner will not receive any prize or reward (cash or otherwise) for participating in the program.”
Both Best Home Cook winners have made their cooking careers a success after winning the show.
Will the series return?
BBC One hasn’t confirmed the return of Best Home Cook or Celebrity Best Home Cook yet – but it would be stupid not to bring them back up and running.
On top of that, it’s a Covid-safe format and viewers love it.
The Celebrity Best Home Cook finale will air on Wednesday February 17, 2021.
