Who is Belle Gibson?
Belle, now 29, was an Australian wellness blogger with over 300,000 followers.
She was born in Tasmania and, according to interviews, had a difficult upbringing.
At the age of 18, Belle had a son.
Three years later, in 2013, 21-year-old Belle launched The Whole Pantry mobile app.
She became famous when she revealed she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.
The social media star told her followers that she had four months to live.
She then revealed that she had “healed” herself through healthy eating and alternative medicine.
In fact, Belle didn’t have cancer at all.
Belle Gibson’s The Whole Pantry and Cancer Lies
The Whole Pantry app became a huge hit and Belle Gibson soon signed a book deal.
Belle reported on her fight against cancer in a blog of the same name.
However, doubts arose over her claims after she failed to make a pledged donation of $ 300,000 to a charity.
Belle claimed to have “helped others” countless times, to forego conventional medical treatment for cancer and to treat herself “naturally”.
In interviews, she claimed to have had malignant cancer of the brain, blood, spleen, uterus, liver and kidney.
She went on to claim that her health problems were due to a response to the Gardasil cervical cancer vaccine.
She had previously claimed to have had multiple heart operations and died temporarily on the operating table.
Belle also said she had a stroke.
However, her story soon turned out to be inconsistent and she was unable to substantiate her medical claims.
Nor did she have any scars.

Why did she lie about cancer?
In late April 2015, Belle gave an interview to Australian Women’s Weekly in which she admitted she lied.
She announced that she made up all of her cancer claims.
“None of this is true,” she said.
Belle blamed her upbringing and said she was neglected by her now estranged mother.
She told the interviewer that she had been forced to take care of herself and her brother since she was five.
Belle’s mother, Natalie Dal-Bello, denied claims Belle made about her family, including the false claim that her brother was autistic.
Where is Belle Gibson now?
Consumer Affairs Victoria has filed a lawsuit against Belle for alleged violations of Australian consumer law.
The disgraced blogger was fined A $ 410,000 (£ 240,000) for making false claims about her charitable giving.
However, Belle claimed she couldn’t afford the fines.
The authorities charged her with disobeying the court and a new trial has been scheduled for May 14th.
She faced an indefinite number of years in prison if she did not attend.
In 2020, the Victoria Belle Sheriff’s office searched Gibson’s home in Northcote.
They confiscated items in order to get their unpaid fines back.
Belle has since tried to hold back, but her home was ransacked again in May 2021.
The last public sighting of Belle Gibson was in January 2020.
Belle appeared in a video claiming she was being adopted by Melbourne’s Ethiopian community.
Video recordings were made of Belle, who spoke in the Oromo language and referred to herself as “Sanbotu”.
She calls Ethiopia “at home”.
Has Belle Gibson ever apologized?
Belle’s interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly has been described as an admission of deception without expressing regret or apology.
Even now, Belle has not apologized publicly.
However, the courts suggested that Belle might be delusional.
Was Belle married and did his husband stay with her?
Belle Gibson has a nine-year-old son, Olivier Corbett, who lives with her.
She also lives with a man named Clive Rothwell.
