What do we feed our children? on BBC One

Dr. Chris van Tulleken moderates this documentary that will make parents feel bad.

He is researching whether ultra-processed foods can lead to obesity in children.

He also undergoes a grueling self-experiment that even shocks the scientists.

Amazingly, child obesity has increased tenfold worldwide over the past 50 years.

In the UK, 21 percent of children will live with obesity by the time they leave elementary school – the highest ever.

Commenting on ultra-processed foods, a public health professor explains: “They are everywhere, they are cheap, and they are heavily marketed.”

When Chris goes on a four week diet of junk food, he finds that it rewires his brain.

What do we feed our children? will air on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 9 p.m. on BBC One.
