The character first appeared this month when Simon mentioned to him that he needed money to pay an electricity bill.
Jacob then tried to get Simon to trade drugs to make extra money. But he set up a fake drug heist that made Simon believe he’d lost it and owed Jacob money.

Jacob Hay on Coronation Street: who plays him and what else was the actor in?
Jacob Hay is played by actor Jack James Ryan and Corrie isn’t the first soap he has appeared in.
In 2019, he played a character named Tyler in an episode of Emmerdale. That same year he played Matt Davies in an episode of Casualty.

Last year he appeared on the BBC Daytime Soap Doctors and played Jaysen Kenny.
In 2019 he also had a role in the film Military Wives as Private Shaw. Former Corrie star Amy James-Kelly played one of the lead roles, Sarah.
What’s next for Jacob and Simon?
Earlier this month it was announced that Will Mellor would join the cast of Coronation Street as the evil drug lord Harvey, who is Jacob’s boss.
It has been announced that Leanne will find out about Simon’s involvement in the drug gang and she will fight to save him from the gang.
Her fierce maternal instinct to protect Simon throws her into orbit around Drug Lord Harvey.

Harvey is Jacob’s “boss”. After Jacob lures a vulnerable Simon into his trap, Harvey takes over to increase the pressure.
But he threatens Simon if he wants to get out.
It quickly becomes clear that both Leanne and Simon are too deep. Harvey has no intention of letting her out of his grasp.
Coronation Street will air Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. with an hour-long episode on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on ITV.
