Where else did I see Alexandra Roach?
A fan of Channel 4’s police drama No Offense will be no stranger to actress Alexandra Roach. The 33-year-old played DS Joy Freers until the last series when she was tragically shot to death in the first episode.
The actress is also no stranger to historical drama, having appeared in the ITV adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sanditon. She played the passionate Diana Parker, Sidney Parker’s sister.
She has also played meaty roles, including a young Margaret Thatcher in the biopic The Iron Lady starring Meryl Streep. Roach played a younger version of the former prime minister in the film that earned Streep her third Academy Award for Best Actress.
Acting is certainly nothing new for Alexandra, as she started performing at the age of 11. Then it landed part of it in the Welsh language soap Pobol Y Cwm in their early teens.
Who is Alexandra Roach married to?
Alexandra has been married to partner Jack Scales since 2018 and is expecting her first child later this year.
The Welsh actress met club promoter Jack on Facebook in 2015 and the couple got engaged in 2016 before getting married two years later.
The couple announced their pregnancy earlier this year with a cute snap on Instagram.
The actress uploaded a snapshot with the caption, “Can’t wait to meet my new buddy.”
Fans and other actors and actresses rushed to send their congratulations, including Peaky Blinders actress Sophie Rundle and Killing Eve star Jodie Comer.
Alexandra Roach as Zoe Sterling
In the new drama Viewpoint, Alexandra plays single mother Zoe Sterling, who comes close to Noel Clarke’s dark and brooding DC Martin Young.
In the series, Zoe borrows her apartment as a surveillance base for police investigating the disappearance of teacher Gemma Hillman. When surveillance officer Martin Young is monitoring Gemma’s apartment, he approaches Zoe and complications arise.
In an interview, Alexandra described Zoe as follows: “Zoe has been waiting for years for something like this, an exciting chapter in her life, to happen.
“When [Martin] shows up with his gear … she feels alive again.
“It’s flawed and it’s messy and that really contradicts the energy he’s bringing into your apartment.”
