He said of fighting: “It’s in our blood, in our genes; They are raised from an early age to protect themselves.

“In the gypsy community, money comes second after fight and honor.

“You are much more respected than the roughest gypsy than the richest.”

Ben served time alongside Yorkshire rippers Peter Sutcliffe and Stockwell Strangler Kenneth Erskine on Broadmoor.

The 31-year-old was released from prison last June and has changed his life.

He is now the host of the Let’s Be Real podcast and a published author.

What are the Roma traditions?

The basic life of a Roma gypsy includes horse trading, bare knuckle fights, and fortune telling.

Because of their nomadic lifestyle, the life of the gypsies contradicts that of the “sedentary” community.

It is believed that there are over 300,000 Gypsy Roma and Irish travelers in the UK.

Roma gypsies are originally from northern India while travelers are of Irish descent and both groups are nomads.

Since 2002, travelers have been recognized as an ethnic group and protected in the UK by the Race Relations Act.

Being on the go means that traveling children often grow up outside of the educational system and many children never go to school.

The vast majority of travelers are Catholics.

Many travelers are dog breeders such as greyhounds or lurchers and have a longstanding interest in the horse trade.

Until they are engaged, some teenage traveler girls undergo the courtship ritual in which a boy grabs a girl they want to kiss.

Couples marry young – girls between 16 and 17 years old and boys between 18 and 19. They are not supposed to marry non-travelers, but marriage to second cousins in families is common.
