Breeder cast: Martin Freeman portrays Paul

Martin Freeman plays Paul in Breeders.

Paul always thought he was a nice guy – until he had kids and realized he was an impatient and angry father.

TV viewers will fondly remember Martin as Tim Canterbury in the office.

His best-known roles since then have included Bilbo in The Hobbit, Paul Maddens in Nativity !, John in Love Actually and Everett K. Ross in Black Panther.

Of course, Martin also portrayed Lester Nygaard in the 2014 series by Fargo and Dr. John Watson in the crime drama Sherlock.

Breeder cast: Daisy Haggard is an ally

Ally currently manages to balance all aspects of her life …

She is a nursing mother, faithful daughter, skilled businesswoman, and loving wife.

But every now and then, something outside of their control threatens to unsettle everything.

Actress Daisy Haggard plays Ally.

Daisy is best known for playing Emmy in Green Wing, Emma in The Persuasionists, and Debbie in Psychoville.

She played Christine Proctor in Ballot Monkeys, Sam in Uncle and Myra Light in episodes.

In Back to Life, she portrayed Miri Matteson, a woman trying to get her life back after she was convicted of murder.

Breeder cast: Alex Eastwood plays Luke

Luke is 13 now and his fear has grown with him.

He can be a loner who often finds the world a challenge.

And it is becoming increasingly clear that Paul’s parenting style no longer really works for Luke …

Actor Alex is a relative newcomer to acting.

So far he has appeared as Mikey in the Creeped Out episode called Splinta Claws.

Eve Prenella portrays Ava

Ava thinks deeply about science, God, and friendship, and is over-sensitive to all of the emotional currents that swirl around her.

Since Luke’s illness she has felt very protected from him and tries as much as possible to smooth out his relationship with Paul.

Eve Prenella’s only other TV credit is that of a geeky girl in the recent Sky movie To Olivia.

Stella Gonet plays Leah

Leah is glamorous and completely unreliable.

She only flits in and out of Ally’s life when it suits her.

Unlike their daughter, they will never be able to understand each other completely.

Stella Gonet played Beatrice Eliott in the House of Eliott between 1991 and 1994.

She portrayed Jayne Grayson in Holby and Casualty and Mrs. Lipsey in Man Down.

She has recently appeared in The Cry, Traces, Grantchester and The Salisbury Poisonings.

Alun Armstrong is Jim

Jim is solid, reliable and has been happily married to Jackie for 50 years.

He’s amused by modern parenting and embodies old-school masculine values.

He loves his wife Paul, Ally and his grandchildren, but obviously can never tell them that!

Alun starred in Year of the Rabbit, Prime Suspect 1973, Little Dorrit and Bleak House.

He played Brian Lane in New Tricks from 2003 to 2013.

The actor recently played Jimmy Lakewell on Line of Duty.

Before that, he showed up at Marcella, Stella, and Waterloo Road.

Who else is playing in Breeders?

Joanna Bacon plays faithful mother and grandma Jackie.

Tim Steed portrays well-meaning but often angry neighbors of Carl, Paul and Ally.
