The experienced “Showman” filmmaker B. Subhash (also known as Babbar Subhash), who knows a number of Bollywood cult films worldwide such as “Disco Dancer”, “Adventures of Tarzan”, “Love Love Love” and “Divine Lovers”, has this cherished dream. By the end of 2022 he should begin the “sequel” of his legendary blockbuster mega-hit “Disco Dancer” (1982). According to the star manufacturer ‘Subhash’, which Indian actor could ideally slip into the dance shoes of the agile Mithun Chakraborty for the sequel.
“To be honest, I think Hrithik Roshan, whom I consider a dedicated ‘performer’ like Mithun-da, would be the right and perfect choice for the sequel to ‘Disco Dancer-2’. In fact, I had already informed Rakesh Roshan-jee about it and am waiting for his release. I haven’t discussed the matter with his superstar son Hrithik, ”said Subhash, who spoke to me on the phone just last week.
The humble music-loving producer and director B. Subhash was recently invited by the Chinese People’s Congress of Hainan Province to be officially honored and congratulated at the film festival for his film “Disco Dancer” and his vibrant songs. Previously, in the late 1980s, B, Subhash was awarded the prestigious “Gold Award” by the Chinese government for the sensational song “Jimmy Jimmy” from the film “Disco Dancer” as the best song of the decade.

Interestingly enough, Subhash met at the (Chinese) Hainan Film Festival with the super actor Aamir Khan (he was also honored there), whom he directed in his romantic film ‘Love Love Love’. After the showmen Raj Kapoor and Mithun-da, Aamir Khan is now considered to be the latest craze among Chinese fans, especially for his films like “PK” and “Dangal”. It is a known fact that Disco Dancers’ has become one of the top grossing Indian films in the overseas market.
When I was asked to remember what the “Khaas Baat” was on the cult song “Jimmy Jimmy”, which is still maddening among music lovers old and young in China, Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and several others Länder is explained to Subhash: “When we recorded the solo song ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ with the voice of Parvati Khan, at first I had the feeling that I didn’t have the right mood and the right feeling. So Bappi-da and I decided to use the ‘double-‘. Voice recording technology. This enhanced the effect of Parvati’s lively voice. Then of course Kim Yashpal’s amazing dancing and lip-syncing and Mithun-da’s charismatic presence in the song visuals was the icing on the cake of the song track. All I can say is that the international fame for this song track is all of God’s divine blessings. Because we never expected this song to be elevated to such phenomenal heights of global fame, “smiles Subhash, who is amazed that there is even a popular Indo-Georgian multi-cuisine restaurant in Tbilisi (inaugurated by Rajiv (Chimpu) Kapoor ) dedicated to The memorable films by Raj Kapoor are called “Jimmy Jimmy”!
The star manufacturer Subhash, who brought Bollywood a big breakthrough through 27 young talents, is also happy that the co-founder of ‘WhatsApp’ – multi-billionaire Jan Koum – mentioned in a media interview about watching disco dancers in his childhood over 20 Mal and that he grew up and eagerly watched the cult film. When asked about his rather bold, nude romantic scenes with Hemant Birje and Kimi Katkar in “Adventures of Tarzan”, he counters with his attitude.

“The scenes didn’t seem to be made up. Instead, the images went with the flow and were justified by the requirements of the Tarzan character in the given situation when he first met and discovered a young human girl. The censors liked the film and gave it a U certificate with no cuts. Even the family audience enjoyed my musical milestone film ‘Tarzan’ which was so beautifully shot by Radhu Karmakar (he was the National Award winning regular cameraman for Raj Kapoor – RK banner films), ”explains Subhash.
