Rosie plays cardiothorak consulting surgeon Jac Naylor in the BBC drama Holby City.

She also played the same role on its sister series Casualty.

Jac is a main character, and it was revealed in 2016 that Rosie is one of the BBC’s highest stars.

What did Rosie Marcel say about her health?

Rosie has suffered several major health emergencies over the years. She was diagnosed with endometriosis when she was just 20 years old and was diagnosed with a rare blood clotting disorder – storage pool disease – that same year.

She was diagnosed with Behcet’s disease in her mid twenties and was left bedridden.

She had to use walking sticks on her way to recovery and did not start walking regularly until a year later.

In 2008 she was also diagnosed with cervical cancer. A smear revealed cancer cells.

What was worrying was that the cancer had spread to her pelvis.

In between filming for Holby City, she received laser treatment in the cancer areas.

In addition, she has spoken openly about battling depression.
