Just recently, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti announced “The Archies,” produced by their joint banner, Tiger Baby. The production house, which earlier co-produced with Excel Entertainment, gave us film gems such as Gully Boy, India’s official entry into the Oscars, and the successful OTT drama Made in Heaven, is now flying solo with the live-action musical directed by Zoya Achtar . “The Archies” is streamed on Netflix and will introduce the world-famous Archie Comics characters to a new generation.
Commenting on the exciting company, producer Reema Kagti said, “Zoya and I both grew up reading the Archies, so we have a massive connection with the characters. I’m thrilled to restart them in a live action musical in 1960s India. It’s also Tiger Baby’s first solo project, which makes it all the more special. “
